Seminars on Food Styling
Linda Bellingham, author of Food Styling for Photographers: A Guide to Creating Your Own Appetizing Art, realizes the necessity for photographers to have some basic food styling tricks up their sleeves. Using the seminar forum to share information and demonstrate fundamental techniques for food styling, Linda structures seminar content to cover the basics as well as to address specific food styling questions within the group. She will equip the group with knowledge and tools, so they can venture into the studio to create their own basic food art for photography projects. During the two day seminar, participants will have the opportunity to work with this experienced food stylist who will share insights about the importance of working as a team on the photography set. In addition to demonstrating styling techniques, Linda will outline organizational skills that participants can take with them into working situations. These skills will provide foundations for planning food projects for photography, emphasizing the need for pre-planning, as well as tips for working with freelance stylists and clients. Linda will highlight techniques for communicating with the team during all stages of photography on the set.
The ideal location for seminars is a photography studio with a full kitchen. Seminar participants will be exposed to the specifics of working with a food stylist. In open forum, Linda will discuss the expectations from both the stylist's perspective as well as encouraging participants to identify and communicate with the client about their expectations.
